To me, Solitude is most noteworthy for its size. It is a VERY large map. As a result, flag capping is very time consuming, and if you were going to play there regularly, it would be a good idea to slot a flagger that can affect the party while not at the stand(i.e. a heal party ele over a cripshot runner) because the flagger will rarely be there.

Splits also have a good chance at being effective due to the size. It is possible to slip by the radar range of the stand by clinging to the top path. The size of the map gives gankers more time to get something happening as well.

I would say it is a pretty nice map, all things considered. More balanced than most...

My Guild ran Solitude for a while. Isle of Solitude is really huge. It's great for splitting and there will often be split right from the start. There are 3 ways to gank (Teleport, Main Gate, Backdoor Gate). The teleports make ganks very easy. It takes one-and-a-half to two times as long to reach the stand compared to other maps, and in a 1v1 situation snarer wins very very badly. That's all that's special about this map, you won't see it often though so don't worry.

At VoD the NPCs ball extrememly easy. If you have any AoE, engage their NPCs when they round the corner at the flag stand and instakill them all.

Its a bit of a nothing map though isnt it?

Its Ok for splits, but there are better options (Corrupted for example)

Its one of those maps that very few teams on the ladder run for that reason, its OK, but there are better options that you can tailor a build to

I believe it's in the rotation now for AT? Good time to watch some top guilds play it and learn eh? Much more efficient than trying to learn tips here

Nope, the new rotation is Corrupted, Jade, Uncharted, Warrior's, Weeping Stone.

Dominant strategy for an opening play is everyone going out the teleporter, in case the enemy sends less than a full team out their side (free kills). This map is very strong for making plays on flaggers like corrupted, and the vod NPC path is pretty horrible considering how easy they are to aggro and then blow up.
